Carle Place has a strategic location near the business and financial district in the heart of Nassau County.  It borders:  Mineola, Garden City, Old Westbury, Westbury and East Garden City.  The name originates from the Carle House, a 32 room house built by Silas Carle in Westbury in the 1800s.  It was called the "Carle Place."  Later in 1946 the town was one of several rural communities that began its transformation into suburbia with rapid inexpensive home construction by William J.
